Techie Phrase Guide

This is a translation guide for phrases we (in my crew) use. This should be most useful to stupid actors who are inevitably in the wrong place at the wrong time, or newbies who are still learning the ropes...

-electric coming in = get out of the way, you idiot

-clear doorway = get out of the way, you idiot

-youre sitting on the soundboard = get out of the way, you idiot

-speakers coming thru = get out of the way, you idiot

-watch your head; falling screws = get out of the way, you idiot

-behind you = get out of the way, you idiot

-no no, don't bother to get up! = get out of the way, you idiot

-clean the rollers = this doesnt mean "leave them in a bucket of paint" this doesnt mean, "put them in the sink" this means "scrub them with the little roller tool until the water coming out of them is something you would drink. (this is usually a task given to people who have committed crimes agains Techiness) i.e. a life sentence to hell

-put this away = this doesnt mean "chuck it into the shop" it means put it where it belongs!

-Does anyone have CDs? = this only refers to good CDs. no boybands or country, and definitely not a CD of the musical we are working on!!

-help me here = get off your butt and do some work, i can't do it all myself

-pick that up and follow me = not only do you have to go somewhere, but you have to carry stuff. dont stop along the way to talk to people, and try not to drop whatever it is that i asked you to carry.
